How to Ride the Bus

Okinawa Island: Routes with Numbers Below #20

(Excludes #10, #12, and #18)

Board the bus through the front door Pay the fare Press the stop button Get off through the rear door
Board the bus through the front door (there are doors at both the front and middle).
Passengers using wheelchairs should board through the middle door.
Pay the fare immediately (*). Bills larger than 2,000 yen are not accepted. The fare box gives change. IC card users should tap their card on the reader. When your stop is announced, press the stop button. Get off the bus through the rear door (there are doors at both the front and middle).

* If you are traveling with multiple people, with a child, or are a person with disabilities, the fare box needs to be set accordingly. Please inform the driver before inserting money or tapping your IC card.

Okinawa Island: Routes with Numbers #20 and Above

(Includes #10, #12, and #18)

Board the bus through the front door Take a numbered ticket Press the stop button Check the fare
Board the bus through the front door (some buses may have only a front door). Please wait for passengers to disembark before boarding.
* For routes #10, #12, #94, and #294, board through the middle door.
Take a numbered ticket from the machine next to the door. If using an IC card, tap it on the reader next to the fare box.
* Keep your numbered ticket, it is needed to determine your fare.
When your stop is announced, press the stop button. Check the fare. Refer to the fare chart near the front of the bus. Find the fare corresponding to the number on your ticket.
Pay the fare Get off through the front door
Pay the fare (*). Bills larger than 2,000 yen are not accepted. If you don't have the exact amount, use the change machine attached to the fare box before paying. IC card users should tap their card on the reader. Get off through the front door, the same door you boarded through.

* If you are traveling with multiple people, with a child, or are a person with disabilities, the fare box needs to be set accordingly. Please inform the driver before inserting money or tapping your IC card.
